Nick Davis' 200 mile walk September 2010
On Sunday 5th September, Nick Davis, a 28 year old member of the
Royal Navy, presently seconded to the Royal Marines will begin a
challenge that has not been done before. He will be
setting off from the Queens Head public house in Meriden at 6am with
the intention of walking the 40 mile circuit of "A Coventry Way" and
being back at Meriden by 6pm approximately. Then, every day
for the next four days he intends repeating this challenge and so
totalling 200 miles in the five days. He will be wearing full
uniform and carrying a full pack. Nick is doing this in aid of
the "Help for Heroes charity.
If anyone out there would like to support Nick's cause they can
do so by logging on to www.bmycharity.com/coventryway200 and
making a donation. Also I feel sure he would appreciate any
support on the route which is 70% off road but passes through the
outskirts of Kenilworth, followed by Stoneleigh, Bubbenhall, Ryton,
Wolston, Bretford, Brinklow, Ansty, Bedworth, Corley Ash, and Corley
Moor before arriving back at Meriden. If anyone is interested
in any way and needs further information please get in touch
with Bob Carey on 02476455251. Or they can go
to cheer Nick on at suitable points along the 200 miles - estimated

Others doing September Challenge?
Note also that Sunday 5th September would have been the date of
the September Challenge. Although the Challenge is now in
April, we often hear of people who could not make the April date
organising a mini Challenge of their own. Watch out therefore
for other individuals or small groups running or walking the ACW
route on Sunday the 5th.
