The Team doing finishing touches to the new k/g : Berkswell Road, Meriden Sunday 15th Oct 2006
October Achievements
We made progress on the next Stile-Free walks -
Circular Walks 21 and 21A. We replaced the stile
where the path leaves Berkswell Road, Meriden with a kissing gate.
We have surveyed the whole route, and identified the tasks
required to complete the project.
Plans
The next session will be on:
|
Wednesday 15th November
at 9:30 am to about 1:00
pm |
|
Location: |
Blind Lane
and Hodgett's Lane |
|
Meet
at: |
Eastern end of Blind Lane, off Meriden Road, Berkeswell :
GR 251 798 |
|
Task(s):
|
Replace stile at GR 251 798 with k/g, and
a second stile off Hodgett's Lane (we will
meet David Keaney at Blind Lane, and then half of us
will follow David to exact
location) |
We have reviewed our plans for future working parties. We
confirm we will continue to place some effort in improving the
remaining difficulties on the 40-mile walk, but now will give
more priority to creating further stile free short (3 to 5 mile)
circular walks. Work on the first (CWCW 21 & 21A) has
started, and future plans are likely to include CWCW 17A and a 4
mile variation of CWCW 12 following the main route to Grimes Bridge,
then following the Oxford Canal to Note 8, then main route back to
Brinklow.
Dates for 2007 will be announced soon, but are
expected to be mostly on the third Wednesday in each month from Jan-Nov.
The first three will therefore probably be:
- Wednesday 17 Jan
- Wednesday 21 Feb
- Wednesday 21 Mar
