Our first "Users" : The Kissing Gate leaving
the
field: Wednesday 18th April 2007
April Achievements
On 18-Apr-2007 a Working Party
installed two new kissing gates, at the entrance and exit to the
"Shetland Ponies
field",
halfway between Sandy Lane and Wood End Lane on walk 17A.
We also installed a new seat, made from the old step from the
stile. This is a delightful spot for a rest, being well away
from any road, and with the two nearest lanes very quiet.
The day was sunny, but not too hot to work. We were "helped" by
a dozen or more of the herd of Shetland Ponies who often live in
this field. Note that they came to check our work, even before
all the tools were cleared away (see the Telcoms Rabbiting Spade in
above photo!)
 Resting on
the new seat : The Kissing Gate entering the field: Wednesday 18th
April 2007

working parties are to continue to place some effort in improving
the remaining difficulties on the 40-mile walk, but to give more
priority to creating further stile-free short (3 to 5 mile) circular
walks. Work on CWCW 17A started in February, and will take most
of 2007.
Dates for rest of 2007 mostly on
the third Wednesday in each month from Jan-Nov. The expected
dates are:
