Stile-Free Short Walks
The kissing gates installed over several months up to June 2012 opened up several stile-free short circular walks starting and finishing at the Bear, Berkswell. Three of these are:
No | Distance | Route outline |
---|---|---|
2S | 1.3 miles | Leave the Bear car park & follow Walk2 towards Benton Green, after 2nd k/g T/R on Path M207, T/R on Spencer’s Lane and follow the Lane back to the Bear |
2T | 2.1 miles | Leave the Bear car park & follow Walk2 to Benton Green, after 3rd k/g T/R to join ACW, follow ACW to just before k/g & long board-walk then T/R onto Path M205 and follow to k/g near Spencer’s Lane T/R on Lane and follow the Lane back to the Bear. |
2U | 1.8 miles | Leave the Bear car park & follow Walk2 towards Benton Green, after 2nd k/g T/R on Path M207, cross Spencer’s Lane and follow Baulk Lane to the driveway to Ram Hall then follow Walk 2 back to the Bear. |
Other variations using the same paths can be easily devised.
Notes:
These short walks are not detailed in the 21 walks book, but can regarded as more variations of Walk 2. They are therefore numbered 2x to link them to 2 & 2A (which are fully described in the book), and 2B (the other half of 2 using the A route in reverse).
